Thank you for visiting the home page of Brunel University Islamic Society
We are a group of students and staff members of Brunel, who tend to the welfare of Muslims, participate positively in public work on campus, provide both Muslims and non-Muslims with Islamic education which is necessary to build bridges and trust between the Muslim community and all other communities and societies.

We believe that there is at least one common thing between any two human beings, regardless of their race, colour, language, or nationality. This common thing is that they belong to the same father and mother, Adam and Eve. Based on this fact, we try to find a common point with all cultures and diversities to start our dialogue from.

We believe that the faith and the belief is a personal affair between the man and his God, and no one else has the right to search one’s heart to discover his belief or to ill-treat him because of it.

We refer in all our affairs to the Qur'an and the authentic sayings (Sunnah) of the Messenger Muhammad, peace be upon him, and their interpretations according to the four most famous doctrines, which are well known to all Muslims.
Through the Islamic Society we tend to:
  • Spread Islamic culture among students.
  • Offer spiritual welfare and social support for members and all Muslims on campus.
  • Empower our members to take a positive role to solve common problems within the University.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with other Brunel student societies in common issues regardless of their faith.
  • Widen the dialogue with other cultures and faiths to build trust and understanding among all of us for the sake of peace and humanity.
  • Stand up for human rights in general and particularly Muslims rights.

These are our objectives, they are simple but deep, few but effective, local but global.

Edward Gibbon and Simon Ockley
speaking on the profession of ISLAM write: " 'I BELIEVE IN ONE GOD, AND MAHOMET, AN APOSTLE OF GOD' is the simple and invariable profession of Islam. The intellectual image of Deity has never been degraded by any visible idol,- the honor of the Prophet have never transgressed the measure of human virtues,- and his living precepts have restrained the gratitude of his disciples within the bounds of reason and religion" .
